United Daily: Gallas Gets Away With It and Some Nonsense About Obi Mikel
An abbreviated United Daily for all you junkies, as today is match preview day.
Gallas Avoids Punishment
If you aren’t already aware, William Gallas will not be disciplined for his unspotted kick at Nani on Saturday. While I do think the kick was deserving of some type of punishment, as he certainly would have been disciplined if it was seen by an official, I think Arsenal–Gallas in particular–have suffered enough. I don’t know where my sympathy is coming from, but for Gallas to have received a fine or suspension two days after a match in which they were defeated 4-0 under his captaincy, for a kick that was pathetic, childlike, and illustrative of his lack of leadership on Saturday would have been cruel. However, if the FA had decided to pile on the Gunners I certainly would not have complained.
Obi Mikel Nonsense
Perhaps some of you are more keenly aware of the constant saga surrounding Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel. Somewhere along the way I have turned a deaf ear to him and am thoroughly confused by why it is that United may have to repay a £12 million fee for something involving Mikel. I really don’t have any desire to learn more, so I refuse to waste my time reading up about it, but if you can’t get enough of the man who cried when his Man Utd move failed feel free to try and figure all of this out. If you do, by all means, explain it to me. I’m looking for a summary.

I’m glad we have a match tomorrow or I would have been scraping the barrel for material. Speaking of scraping the barrel, am I the only one who thinks that Tribal Football is an irritating disgrace of a website? They took this quote from Kaka…:
“I think I’ll remain in Milan for the rest of my career. I’ve adapted to life here and am settled in the city. I don’t see myself in another place, but you never know what will happen. It would be impossible to play for another Italian club after Milan, so it would be Barcelona or Real Madrid or one of the teams in England always fighting for the title: Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea.”
…and turned it into the headline, “Kaka: I’d only leave Milan for Manchester United or Chelsea.” Everyday they post unsubstantiated, uncorroborated nonsense that clutters the internet. They have so little credibility that I perceive any story that appears on their website as false until I see it in a legitimate paper. They are the equivalent of a low-budget gossip rag, inventing stories to get a readership. But I digress…..
Enjoy the matches today.
